LEITERSBURG, MD – Two Maryland firefighters were injured Tuesday afternoon while battling a house fire.Two residents of the single-story house also were injured after running back inside in an attempt to rescue their pets, according to NBC25.

 
One of the firefighters had a respiratory problem, while the other had facial injuries, reports indicated.
 
The cause of the fire is under investigation, said  Lt. Robert Myerly, of  the Leitersburg Fire Department.
