Pa. FF Hurts Neck at House Fire

SOUTH FAYETTE TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Investigators are working to learn the cause of a fire at a South Fayette Township rowhouse. The fire started in the kitchen of the house on Hunters Pass Road around 3 p.m. Thursday. No one was home at the time. The fire spread to both neighboring homes before firefighters could bring it under control. "There was huge balls of fire. It was crazy, nothing we've ever seen before. It took a good 15 minutes for fire trucks to get here. They've been here ever since," said Sherry Vucick.

Investigators are working to learn the cause of a fire at a South Fayette Township rowhouse.

The fire started in the kitchen of the house on Hunters Pass Road around 3 p.m. Thursday.

No one was home at the time. The fire spread to both neighboring homes before firefighters could bring it under control. "There was huge balls of fire. It was crazy, nothing we've ever seen before. One woman was treated for smoke inhalation and an Upper St. Clair firefighter was treated for a neck injury.

The house where the fire started sustained major damage.
