DELTONA, Fla. --

A car crashed into a church Sunday morning, in what authorities said was the fourth case of a vehicle hitting a building this year in Deltona.

Authorities said the crash occurred at the Deltona Presbyterian Church at 2300 Deltona Blvd. on Sunday at about 10:08 a.m.

"A female church member hit one of the doors to the kitchen area of the church and pushed the door in a little bit," said Division Fire Chief Bill Snyder. "The crash pushed in part of the door frame. The building did not require power shutoff."

The woman was not injured in the crash, Snyder added.

Authorities said the fire suppression system over the church's stove had been compromised, forcing firefighters to shut off gas to the church while they checked for damage.
