Black Powder Blast Kills 1 in Ky.

STANFORD, Ky.

STANFORD, Ky. --

An explosion at a home in central Kentucky has claimed one life.

State police said two others were injured in the explosion.

Investigators said 80-year-old Shannon Corman -- who is a licensed firearms dealer -- was mixing black powder when the explosion occurred.

Published reports state he is a retired state police trooper.

Detectives said they believe a body found in the home is Corman.

His 75-year-old wife is in serious condition and a 57-year-old man is in critical condition. Both are being treated at the University of Kentucky Hospital.
