NEW CASTLE, Pa. --
Firefighters returned to a vacant home in New Castle Monday night, after flames broke out for the second time since Saturday.
Neighbors heard the sound of glass breaking before the fire started on the 500 block of South Walnut Street.
Officials said it took crews most of the night to get the flames under control. The siding on the home next door was also burned by the fire.
The state fire marshal is investigating the fire that started in the basement of the same home on Saturday.
New Castle has seen a rash of fires over the past year-and-a-half. Police have made arrests in a number of the cases where the cause of the fire was determined to be arson.
