Vt. Firefighter Killed Assisting at Crash

An off-duty Shoreham volunteer firefighter while assisting at the scene of a car crash last night (Dec. 27), according to WCAX-TV.Firefighter Peter Coe was fatally struck by an oncoming pickup truck at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Richville Dam Road.The 43-year-old and was driving with his family when he pulled over to help. The driver of the pickup did not see the car due to its location and hit Coe.

Firefighter Peter Coe was fatally struck by an oncoming pickup truck at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Richville Dam Road.

The 43-year-old and was driving with his family when he pulled over to help. The driver of the pickup did not see the car due to its location and hit Coe.

The driver went off the road, hitting a power line, a tree and the original crash victims vehicle.

The accident is currently under investigation and no charges have been filed.
