3-Alarm Fire Destroys Pa. Clubhouse

MURRYSVILLE, Pa. -- A fire fully engulfed a golf clubhouse and destroyed more than 100 golf carts in Murrysville, Westmoreland County early Sunday morning. Murrysville police said an officer on patrol saw black smoke emanating from the area of Hankey Church Road shortly before 4:30 a.m. The fire ignited at the Rolling Fields Golf Course, and it took hours before firefighters could calm the flames, fire officials said.

A fire fully engulfed a golf clubhouse and destroyed more than 100 golf carts in Murrysville, Westmoreland County early Sunday morning.

Murrysville police said an officer on patrol saw black smoke emanating from the area of Hankey Church Road shortly before 4:30 a.m.

The fire ignited at the Rolling Fields Golf Course, and it took hours before firefighters could calm the flames, fire officials said.

Six fire companies were called to the fire, which remains under investigation by the state fire marshal. No injuries were reported.
