PASADENA --

Investigators are looking into what started a fire at a fire station in Pasadena, KPRC Local 2 reported.

It started at about 1:40 a.m. Monday on Red Bluff at Kirby at the station that houses a police substation and a volunteer fire department.

One police officer was in the building when he noticed a power surge, then smelled smoke.

A district chief who lives near the station was the first on the scene. He hooked up a hose and got to work.

Firefighters had to move all of their equipment into the street so it wouldn't get damaged.

There were no injuries and while those fire officials believe the cause was electrical, they say they'll have to investigate further to know for sure.
