OCALA, Fla. --
A tractor-trailer carrying $70 million in Florida Lottery tickets ignited Thursday afternoon on Interstate 75 in Marion County.
The truck was carrying a load of $20 scratch-off tickets when it ignited in the southbound lanes. At least one lane remained closed through 10 p.m., according to Marion County Fire Rescue.
Sheriff's deputies guarded the truck until the surviving tickets could be off-loaded. Crews from the company transferred boxes from the damaged trailer to a new one that arrived at the scene.
A cause remains under investigation.
