Ore. FF Injured at Mobile Home Fire

PORTLAND, Ore. -- A firefighter was injured Tuesday morning while fighting a fire at a mobile home in north Portland. Portland firefighters said they found a fifth-wheel travel trailer involved in flames when they arrived at the mobile home park on North Hayden Island Drive at about 3 a.m. Crews quickly confirmed that everyone was safely out of the trailer and then took a defensive stance in fighting the fire.

A firefighter was injured Tuesday morning while fighting a fire at a mobile home in north Portland.

Portland firefighters said they found a fifth-wheel travel trailer involved in flames when they arrived at the mobile home park on North Hayden Island Drive at about 3 a.m.

Crews quickly confirmed that everyone was safely out of the trailer and then took a defensive stance in fighting the fire.

While extinguishing the blaze, the firefighter suffered an injury in a fall and had to be taken to to Oregon Health & Science University hospital. The firefighter is in stable condition and will likely be treated and released Wednesday.

Crews extinguished the mobile home fire without further incident.
