BENTONVILLE, Ark. --

Bentonville firefighters were called to a house fire at 1306 Quail Run Circle around 11:30 p.m. Thursday.

Firefighters said a fire in the roof and attic area was 80 percent involved when they arrived to the home.

Firefighters said an elderly man was inside the home at the time of the fire and that he was disoriented, which they said is normal in such a situation.

Fire officials said Battalion Chief Larry Horton, who lives on the same street, ran into the burning home to save the man. Horton had to fight through heavy smoke and extreme heat to get to the man.

The man was transported to a local hospital with minor smoke inhalation. Fire officials said he is expected to be OK.

The fire is under investigation, but fire officials said they believe it may have started in a bedroom and worked its way up a wall and into the attic.

Fire officiials said they do not believe the fire is suspicious.

No one else was injured in the fire.
