Firefighter Injured In Pennsylvania Blaze

A firefighter suffered a minor injury in the unoccupied home.

McKEESPORT, Pa. --

A fire broke out just before 5:30 a.m. along Sylvan Street in McKeesport on Saturday.

It took about 30 to 40 minutes for firefighters to gain control of a fire that heavily damaged a house in McKeesport, officials say. A firefighter suffered a minor injury at the scene. No one was inside the two-story, two-bedroom house at the time of the fire.

The Red Cross is providing the three adults and three children who lived in the house with food, clothing and shelter.

The Allegheny County Fire Marshal continued to investigate Saturday afternoon.
