More layoffs, rolling closures and rig shutdowns could be waiting in the wings for the Anchorage Fire Department.

More layoffs, rolling closures and rig shutdowns could be waiting in the wings for the Anchorage Fire Department, according to KTUU-TV.

Union President Tom Westcott told the station that he believes the mayor's officer has asked departments to produce 2, 5 and 7 percent reductions.

"If we reduce the work force we don't have the man power to staff what we have right now," he said.

"We reduce it further and that will mean permanent closures and that's where I think this mayor is headed."
