South Carolina Firefighter Dies After Falling Ill

The U.S. Fire Administration is reporting the death of 48-year-old Lieutenant Steve Hagen, Sr of the Blenheim Fire Department in Blenheim, S.C.

On Monday, Hagan responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident. While at the scene, he began to feel sick and was taken to the hospital in Bennettsville.

Hagan was subsequently transported by ambulance to the hospital in Florence, SC, where he went into cardiac arrest and was unable to be revived.

Funeral Arrangements

Lieutenant Hagen will be laid to rest on Saturday, December 27 at Sunset Cemetary in Bennettsville, S.C.
