Child, Firefighters Hurt in Ohio Blaze

TWINSBURG, Ohio --

A child and two firefighters were taken to a hospital after a blaze at a Twinsburg Township home on Sunday.

The Twinsburg Fire Department responded to a fire in a house on Sara Fletcher Court in Twinsburg Township at about 12:48 p.m.

Chief Richard M. Racine said a juvenile was transported to University Hospitals-Bedford Medical Center for non-life-threatening burn injuries. Two firefighters were also transported to area facilities with minor injuries and were released after treatment.

Fire crews battled heavy smoke and flames upon arrival and were assisted by mutual aid units from Hudson fFre, Hudson EMS, Macedonia Fire and Streetsboro Fire.

Damage estimates are more than $200,000. The Twinsburg Fire Department Fire Investigation Unit is trying to determine the origin and cause.
