NEW ORLEANS --

A five-alarm fire in Uptown damaged at least three homes, according to a witness at the scene.

At least one of the homes could be a total loss.

The blaze was reported at about 4:20 p.m. near the corner of Baronne and Robert streets. A witness said flames quickly spread throughout the first home, then extended to the houses on either side.

At least 10 fire trucks were at the scene, and firefighters cut electricty to the homes.

No injuries have been reported, Fire Chief Charles Parent said.
