Ohio Firefighters Make Quick Knockdown at Apartment Fire

HUBER HEIGHTS, Ohio --

A fire at a Huber Heights apartment forced more than a dozen people of out the homes.

The fire happened early Sunday morning on Bufort Drive. Firefighters arrived and said they found flames coming from one unit in the apartment building.

Fire officials said the building was evacuated.

Chief Kevin Foley said, At the time of the fire, the apartment was not occupied. He said a neighbor found the fire and alerted other neighbors to evacuate the building.

Fire crews said damage was mostly confined to the one apartment. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The Red Cross was called and is helping those who were forced from their homes.
