CHESTERFIELD - Around 11:40 a.m. July 12, a call was dispatched for a structure fire at 6449 Cosmic Road, in The Park at Lakewood Apartments.
Arriving crews discovered a stove on fire and smoke rolling from the apartment's first and second-floor windows.
A five inch quick connect supply line was laid, several handlines stretched, and firefighters made quick work of the fire.
Ventilation was performed by opening windows and doors.
Fire walls in the apartment and the quick work of crews prevented damage to any exposures.
Crews who responded include; Engines 3,11,17, Medic 11, Truck 3, TSO and Battalion 1.
The cause is under investigation.
