Both of the boys were bumped and bruised, but in good condition.

Two children were rescued from Big Run Creek by Franklin Township firefighters on Thursday evening after they were swept away after apparently wading into the water.

Both of the boys were bumped and bruised, but fine, NBC 4 's Mike Bowersock reported.

Fire crews had searched for a third boy, but it appeared that he was never in the water and was found safe at home.

On the west side of Columbus, the rain poured and broad street was nearly flooded Thursday evening.

Throughout the city, underpasses were flooded. At Fifth Avenue and Joyce Road, the water rose so high that an underpass was closed.

Drivers on state Road 315 near Broad Street found the same problems, as did people driving near the Lennox Shopping Center.
