The owners were on vacation.

Investigators were looking into what caused a home on the city's southwest side to go up in flames Tuesday morning.

The fire started at about 2 a.m. in the 6500 block of Hall Road, NBC 4 's Kyle Anderson reported.

Firefighters said they could see the flames up to one mile away when they were approaching the scene.

They said the house was almost destroyed when they arrived. They could only stop the flames from spreading to the neighbors, Anderson reported.

No one was inside the home at the time of the blaze. Neighbors said the homeowner was on vacation.

Firefighters said their investigation was ongoing and in depth because no one was home at the time.

No injuries were reported.
