Information for Departments Attending Funeral for Fallen Salisbury, N.C. Firefighters

Following is information regarding all departments attendance for the Thursday, March 13 services for Salisbury Firefighters Victor Isler and Justin Monroe.

Following is information regarding all departments attendance for the Thursday, March 13 services for Salisbury Firefighters Victor Isler and Justin Monroe as provided by the North Carolina Fire Marshal's Office:

Department apparatus:

West Innes Street will be closed to thru traffic beginning at 1200 hours, Thursday through the end of services and processional leaving the Chapel/Catawba College.

Departments are requested to plan to arrive at staging locations noted below as soon as possible after 1200 hours.

Departments are requested to limit your apparatus to one unit per department due to available parking.

Designated parking areas for apparatus will be at the following locations and will be filled in the following order as units arrive (a transit unit will be available in the area to transport personnel from parking areas to the Chapel):

  • 100 - 300 blocks of Hogans Valley Way off the 2600 block of W Innes Street
  • 2200-2300 blocks of W Innes Street in the eastbound lane from North Park Drive back to Corriher Avenue
  • 2600 block of W Innes Street from Sells Rd back to North Park Drive

Marked Department Administrative Vehicles (cars) will be parked in the east parking lot of Keppel Auditorium. Overflow of additional administrative vehicles will be parked in designated remote lots as needed with transit/transport available to Chapel and return.

Personnel:

Department personnel are urged and requested to wear dress uniform (Class A or B) if possible. Causal dress is discouraged.

Department personnel are requested to car-pool as much as possible and use high occupancy vehicles due to available parking. Personal vehicles will be parked at the following locations and filled in the order shown. (A transit unit will be available in the area to transport personnel from parking areas to the Chapel and return):

  • Food Lion/Ketner Center Parking Lot (100 blk Mahaley Ave)
  • Town Pharmacy Parking Lot (1400 blk W Innes St)
  • Milford Hills Baptist Church (1238 E Colonial Dr off Statesville Blvd)
  • Salisbury Mall (1935 W Jake Alexander Blvd)
  • Rex TV Parking Lot (2000 blk Statesville Blvd

Procession to Gravesite:

Once the services at the Chapel have concluded, the Motorcade will proceed west on Innes Street. Fire apparatus will fall into procession in the following order as parked/filled:

  • 2600 block of W Innes Street from Sells Rd back to North Park Drive
  • 100 - 300 blocks of Hogans Valley Way off the 2600 block of W Innes Street
  • 2200-2300 blocks of W Innes Street in the eastbound lane from North Park Drive back to Corriher Avenue

Procession will travel west on Innes Street onto US 601 Hwy to E Ridge Road at Franklin; turning right on E Ridge Road to Franklin Community Center Road; turning right on Franklin Community Center Road to rear entrance.

Procession will proceed into Memorial Park as directed by lead vehicles. Procession vehicles will fill interior roads in Park until filled to rear entrance.

Additional apparatus/vehicles not able to enter the Park should continue on Franklin Community Center Road to its intersection with US 601 and fill parking areas at Franklin Baptist Church, adjacent to the Park. Remaining apparatus/vehicles should line on Franklin Community Center Road, from Franklin Baptist Church back to E Ridge Road.
