CHICAGO --

A woman who jumped from a second-floor window to escape a fire Saturday in the 4900 block of Loomis Street was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she was reported in stable condition with leg fractures.

Chicago firefighters were called to the blaze shortly after 2 p.m.

Five people were displaced in the fire, Fire Media Affairs Cmdr. Will Knight said. No other injuries were reported.

The fire broke out on the second floor of the two-story home. It spread to one building to the south, Knight said. That building sustained moderate damage.

The home had working smoke detectors, Knight said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation Saturday.
