Two Killed in Iowa House Fire

Investigators said an electrical short appears to have caused the fire.

OMAHA, Neb. --

A fire in a home in Atlantic, Iowa, has claimed two lives.

Firefighters were called to the burning home around 1 a.m. Sunday.

Neighbors told rescuers that two people were trapped inside.

Firefighters found Linda Adams, 65, just inside a back door and Gary Pearce, 63, in a bedroom. Both Adams and Pearce have died from their injuries.

Investigators said an electrical short appears to have caused the fire.
