Investigators believe an electrical fire started in a back bedroom.

An electrical fire destroyed a home in northeast Harris County Wednesday morning.

Firefighters tried to save a home on Cliffside Drive at Bannister Lane at about 3:30 a.m. but the flames grew so intense they were forced to back away and let it burn out on its own.

"I had all crews go into defensive mode. Basically, we didn't have anything salvageable. There was no occupants and everybody was out of the house," Houston Fire Department Firefighter Doug Sherber said.

Investigators believe the fire started in a back bedroom.
