Woman Rescued from Indianapolis Fire

Firefighters rescued a woman trapped in an apartment fire early Thursday morning.

INDIANAPOLIS --

Firefighters rescued a woman trapped in an apartment fire early Thursday morning.

The fire broke out at about 12:30 a.m. in the 2200 block of North College Avenue.

Authorities said the woman called 911 from inside her first-floor apartment.

Firefighters were able to find the woman inside. She was taken to Wishard Memorial Hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.

The woman was listed in stable condition early Thursday morning.

Firefighters said they think the apartments did not have working smoke detectors.
