YORBA LINDA, Calif. (AP) -- Firefighters on Thursday night were close to surrounding an Orange County blaze that burned 1,078 acres of grassland, officials said.

The blaze that started Tuesday was burning in Chino Hills State Park and was 90 percent contained late Thursday, said Doug Lannon, a battalion chief with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.

No homes were threatened.

About 900 firefighters remain on the scene and full containment of the fire was expected Friday.

Illegal firecrackers or bottle rockets caused the fire, investigators determined. Three boys seen leaving the scene around the time the fire started are wanted for questioning, but their whereabouts are unknown.

Five firefighters have suffered minor injuries.

In the San Bernardino National Forest, a 71-acre wildfire that forced hundreds of children from campgrounds has been 100 percent contained, authorities said.

Hundreds of children were rushed from campgrounds after the fire ignited Tuesday, but the evacuation orders were lifted Thursday, authorities said. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
