The Bayonne Insurance Commission has authorized a payment of nearly $25,000 to a city firefighter for medical expenses related to an on-the-job injury he suffered more than two years ago.

Earlier this month, the commissioners voted to approve a worker's compensation settlement for $24,933 for Jose "Pepe" Casais in connection with an injury to his right shoulder.
