Fallen Firefighters Forgotten On Kansas City's Memorial

When the Firefighters' Fountain and memorial was dedicated in Penn Valley Park 13 years ago, their names were not inscribed on the granite posts that list the fallen.
They forgot William Craig, who fell down an elevator shaft.

They forgot William McCardle, who was kicked in the chest by a horse.

And they forgot John William Glynn, who had a heart attack and fell face first into a pool of water.

All three were Kansas City firefighters who died on the job or from injuries they suffered while protecting the public.

But when the Firefighters' Fountain and memorial was dedicated in Penn Valley Park 13 years ago, their names were not inscribed on the granite posts that list the fallen.
