USFA Press Secretary Tom Olshanski said the end of the federal fiscal year September 30 made it necessary to wrap up some fiscal adjustments before continuing. "It's a matter of clearing the books to begin the new fiscal year," he said. The federal government 2004 fiscal year began October 1.
During this break, USFA took the opportunity to announce the Fire Prevention and Safety Grant Application period.
