Los Angeles Firefighters Battle Apartment Fire

On Saturday, October 04, 2003, at 1246 hours (12:46 p.m.), fifteen companies of Los Angeles Firefighters, three Battalion Command Teams, two LAFD Rescue Ambulances, and other support units under the direction of Assistant Chief Michael S. Fulmis, responded to a Greater Alarm Structure Fire at 4210 N. Via Arbolada.
On Saturday, October 04, 2003, at 1246 hours (12:46 p.m.), fifteen companies of Los Angeles Firefighters, three Battalion Command Teams, two LAFD Rescue Ambulances, and other support units under the direction of Assistant Chief Michael S. Fulmis, responded to a Greater Alarm Structure Fire at 4210 N. Via Arbolada in the El Sereno area.

First units on the scene reported a large 3-story apartment building with fire and heavy smoke showing from one unit on the third floor. Firefighters using handlines aggressively made their way down an extended hallway to the involved unit and extinguished the fire in approximately forty minutes. The fire was confined to the one unit and a portion of the attic with smoke damage in the hallway and water damage to one unit on the second floor.

One male adult was escorted from the third floor suffering from minor smoke inhalation but refused treatment. A female adult suffering chest pains was transported to Huntington Memorial Hospital in good condition. No other injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is listed as a
