Two men were arrested after they allegedly attacked Hamersville firefighters responding to a blaze last week.

Crews responded to a tractor fire near a barn on Bolender Road around 11:30 p.m. on May 31 and found Timothy Gray and Nathan Gray trying to put it out with a garden hose, according to The Ledger Independent.

The firefighters extinguished the flames, which upset the men, who attacked several members of the department.

The firefighters held the men down until the Brown County Sheriff's Office arrived.

Both men were charged with six counts of assault, one count of disrupting public service, one count of obstructing official business and one count of misconduct at an emergency.

Officials said both men appeared to be intoxicated.
