Minn. Firefighters Bitten by Pets During House Fire

Rochester firefighters were bitten several times by animals they pulled from a burning home.

Firefighters in Rochester, Minn. were bitten several times by animals they pulled from a burning home Saturday morning.

Protective gear luckily prevented the firefighters from suffering any injuries, according to The Post Bulletin.

Multiple cats and three dogs were rescued and all survived.

Crews responded to the fire at a single-family residence in the 800 block of Sixth Avenue Northwest around 7:30 a.m.

Firefighters forced their way in after receiving reports that someone may have been inside, but soon realized the sounds inside were from the pets.The resident wasn't inside when the home caught fire.

Damage to the structure is estimated at $15,000 and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
