Texas Firefighter Reportedly Shot by Stranded Motorist

The unidentified Montana Vista firefighter told El Paso County Sheriff's deputies he was shot by a man whose black four-door passenger car appeared to have been stranded at an intersection.

Authorities are currently investigating why a Montana Vista firefighter was apparently shot by a stranded motorist Wednesday night.

The shooting took place near the intersection of Tamara and Faith roads around 8:45 p.m., the El Paso County Sheriff's Office told The El Paso Times.

The unidentified firefighter told deputies he was shot by a man whose black four-door passenger car appeared to have been stranded at the intersection.

He was transported to a local hospital but his injuries were said not to be life threatening.

Investigators are working to determine why the firefighter was shot.
