Pennsylvania Four-Alarm Five Injures Five People

Flames ripped through the top of the building and a part of the roof collapsed.

At least five people were injured in a four-alarm condominium fire Friday night in Montgomery County, authorities said.

The blaze was reported at 9:23 p.m. in the three-story building at 1600 Church Rd. in Cheltenham Township, a dispatcher said.

Fire officials said at least five victims, including a firefighter, were transported from the scene. Multiple rescues were reported.

Flames ripped through the top of the building and a part of the roof had collapsed by 11:30 p.m., firefighters reported.

A Red Cross spokesman said 40 housing units were affected. Displaced residents were being directed to Cheltenham High School for aid and temporary shelter.
