Woman Hurt in Maryland House Fire

Nov. 14--A woman was injured in a two-alarm fire that broke out Wednesday morning in a home in the unit block of Blake Court in Reisterstown.

According to the Baltimore County Fire Department and the state fire marshal, crews received a call at 1 a.m. Wednesday and arrived to find "heavy fire" on the first and second floors of the single-family dwelling.

Emergency workers located a woman in her 60s on the second floor of the house and transported her to Northwest Hospital suffering from smoke inhalation and burns to 50 percent of her body. She remains hospitalized in critical condition.

The fire escalated to a second alarm and was brought under control at 2:23 a.m. According to the fire department, about 15 companies and 60 personnel battled the blaze, the cause of which is under investigation.
