SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio — Two people were killed and several others injured after a fire broke out inside a house in Shaker Heights early Tuesday morning.
It happened just before 4:30 a.m. in the 3300 block of Daleford Road.
Fire officials say two people were pronounced dead at the scene. Five others were transported to local hospitals.
Shaker Heights police confirm that two firefighters were also hurt. The nature of their injuries was not immediately clear.
The conditions and identities of the victims have not yet been released.
The blaze was contained to one house, but multiple crews — including departments from surrounding cities — remain at the scene.
Daleford Road is closed to traffic.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
