March 07--Two adults and two children suffered injuries in an early morning fire in Hancock County, officials said.

Hancock County Deputy Fire Marshal John Albert Evans said a man and a woman were taken to a Picayune hospital and were then airlifted to a burn center in Augusta, Ga.

Evans said that according to family, the children were taken to an area hospital and later transferred to Ochsner Children's Health Center in Louisiana.

The fire was reported about 4 a.m. at Sellers Place near Mississippi 43 in central Hancock County. The home was completely destroyed, he said.

The adults' and children's injuries were unknown at press time.

Evans said a Leetown volunteer firefighter saw the fire Thursday morning shortly before 4 a.m. and beat on the windows and door to alert the family. They were able to get out of the house.

Crews from Leetown and Kiln Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the scene.

Evans said the house was destroyed.
