Pennsylvania Blaze Claims Four Children, Two Adults

-Six people, including four children, died in a raging fire that consumed a home in Pottsville just before midnight Sunday.

Unofficial reports from the scene indicate the children's father and an aunt -- the father's sister -- died with the four children. Their mother may have possibly been the only survivor, according to witnesses at the scene.

Reports from the scene indicate the family recently moved to Pottsville from the state of Washington.

The Schuylkill County Communications Center said the fire was reported at 11:55 p.m Sunday.

Initial emergency radio dispatches said one adult and four children were trapped in the fire, and the house was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived.

Firefighters could not make entry into the home because of the extent of the fire, and onefirefighter may have been injured falling off a ladder, according to emergency radio dispatches.

The information from emergency radio dispatches and has not been confirmed by officials.

When firefighters first arrived, the back of the house was ablaze and the front of the house had flames shooting out the second-floor and attic windows.
