A crash in Pennsylvania Sunday afternoon left four firefighters injured and a cab driver dead.

Police told reporters it appears the driver of the taxi, Michael West, 55, of Stroundsburg, was traveling in the northbound lane when he lost control of his vehicle, sliding sideways into the southbound lane of the oncoming fire police van, which then hit the taxicab in the center of its passenger side.

West was pronounced dead at the scene.
