A 24-year-old career firefighter with Atlanta (Ga.) Fire-Rescue was found dead at one of the city’s fire station while she was on duty Monday.

According to the United States Fire Administration (USFA), Katrina Sims was deceased at Atlanta’s Station 35 on Central Cargo Road, which is near the Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

The USFA says the circumstances related to her death is under investigation, but media outlets are saying it was a suicide and are reporting the Atlanta police are treating it as such.

The scant information on the USFA’s web site lists cause of death and nature of death as both “other.” The USFA often lists cause of death as cardiac, trauma, or other health or injury causes.

Firehouse.com will provide more information as it becomes available.
