Escapee Steals Brush Truck from Oklahoma Fire Station

An inmate who escaped from an Oklahoma correctional facility is accused of making his getaway in a rather unusual vehicle -- one that didn't blend in well -- a brush truck.

Not long after Adam J. Holder escaped, police said he broke into the nearby Boley Fire Department and drove off in a brush truck, according to KFOR.com.

A toll booth attendant didn't buy Holder's explanation that he was delivering the fire truck to a department in Missouri, and called police.

Police alerted local media, and urged residents in the tri-state area to be on the lookout for the red brush truck with Boley Fire Department on its driver's door.

A citizen in Kansas spotted the vehicle, notified police and followed it until officers caught up, the station reported.

Holder was taken into custody, and the brush truck was released to the fire officials in Boley.
