Ohio Fire Station Destroyed, Apparatus Damaged by Storm

The Mineral City Volunteer Fire Department was leveled on top of its apparatus Wednesday afternoon.

The Mineral City Volunteer Fire Department was destroyed by a strong storm Wednesday afternoon.

The NWS announced it will send authorities to the area on Thursday to determine if the damage was caused by a tornado. 

Photos show the apparatus covered with debris.

Mineral City firefighters posted a message on their Facebook page -- "Prayers for us. Our station was destroyed by a tornado today."

The Bolivar Fire Department will be handling calls in Mineral City, according to Newsnet5.
