Aug. 10--HAMILTON -- Two Hamilton firefighters were treated for heat exhaustion at the scene of a fire late Friday night on South Martin Luther King Boulevard.

At about 11:30 p.m. fire was reported at 507 S. Martin Luther King, the site of a vacant three-unit apartment building that also caught fire in October. Flames were shooting from the rear of the building and heavy smoke was visible from the windows on both the first and second floors when firefighters arrived, according to the Hamilton Fire Department.

Firefighters attacked the blaze from the exterior due to the extent of fire. A search of the building followed fire knockdown.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, said Tom Angst, fire investigator. But he said the house had been boarded up since the first fire on Oct. 26 and there were no utilities to the building.

Deputy Chief Troy Pugh said the October fire damaged the first floor and began in a closet.

Damage from Friday night's fire is estimated at $40,000.
