A D.C. firefighter has filed a criminal complaint against the chief saying his boss yanked his cellphone out of his hand.

The Aug. 13 incident occurred while Sean C. Griffith was taking a photo of a burning abulance, according to the criminal complaint obtained by WRC.

Griffith, 33, said in the document he was taking a picture of the ambulance fire in Southeast, when Chief Kenneth Ellerbe approached him and "grabbed" the phone from him, causing injury to his wrist.

The firefighter sought medical attention for his injury, reporters noted

"His job is safe," Ellerbe told News4 Wednesday. "I can tell you that I didn't snatch the phone from him. I asked him if he had [a cell phone], asked if I could see it, he gave it to me, and that was the end of it as far as I was concerned."
