North Las Vegas House Fire Displaces 14 Residents

Four adults and 10 children were inside a single-story home in North Las Vegas when it caught fire. No one was injured.

Aug. 24--A fire displaced 14 people from their home today in North Las Vegas.

North Las Vegas Fire responded to the fire about 3:15 p.m. at 1401 E Cartier Ave., near Civic Center Drive and Carey Avenue. Heavy smoke and flames rose from the home when firefighters arrived, North Las Vegas Fire spokesman Cedric Williams said.

Four adults and 10 children were inside the single-story home at the time of the fire, but were able to self-evacuate, Williams said. Firefighters extinguished the fire in about eight minutes.

No one was injured.

The fire caused about $30,000 in damage to the home. Fire investigators determined the cause was accidental, Williams said.
