Kan. Man Threatens Firefighters at Their Station

Wichita firefighters were threatened by a man with a pocket knife after he was caught allegedly trying to break into cars.

Aug. 24--At around 1:30 a.m. Saturday in the 900 block of South Enoch Drive, four young men attempted to catch a 26-year-old man trying to break into their vehicles, according to Wichita police Sgt. Bruce Watts.

The suspect threatened the men with a pocket knife and then fled to the fire station at Lincoln and Rock Road. At the station, the man threatened firefighters, who were able to hold him down until police arrived on the scene.

The suspect was booked on charges of burglary to an automobile, theft, aggravated assault, trespassing and possession of drug paraphernalia.
