Aug. 31--GLASGOW -- A judge has sent an issue relating to the firing of a firefighter back to Glasgow City Council.
Former Glasgow Fire Department Sgt. Roger Hampton was terminated from his position, and he challenged the action in an administrative hearing before the Glasgow City Council on June 18, 2012. The council upheld guilty charges on six charges, including the one for which he was actually fired.
That decision was appealed in Barren Circuit Court. The law firm representing Hampton filed a motion to dismiss the count against him for which he was actually terminated, claiming the charge for which he was fired and another for which he was suspended are the same charge for the same violation, with only slightly different wording.
