Fla. Interstate Crash Sends 10 to The Hospital

Fort Lauderdale firefighters rescued and transported 10 people after a crash on Interstate 95.

Sept. 11--Ten people were taken to the hospital Tuesday night following a crash involving a van on Interstate 95 in Fort Lauderdale, according to Fire Rescue officials.

The van was slowing down when it was rear-ended by a car around 8:15 p.m. on northbound on I-95 just south of the Sunrise Boulevard exit. All northbound lanes were closed while rescue crews tended to the injured, The Florida Highway Patrol said.

The driver who rear-ended the van was seriously injured and taken to Broward Health Medical Center along with two van passengers. Three van passengers were taken to Holy Cross Hospital and four more went to Plantation General Hospital, Sgt. Mark Wysocky said.
