Sept. 16--A fire late Sunday night in a three-story building on the Far North Side sent three people to local hospitals, including two firefighters.

The blaze started about 10:50 p.m. inside a building in the 4400 block of North Wolcott Avenue in the Ravenswood neighborhood, fire officials said. It was quickly elevated to a still-and-box alarm, bringing dozens of firefighters to the scene.

Two firefighters were taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, and a third person was taken to Swedish Covenant Hospital, a spokesman for the fire department said on Twitter. All were listed in fair-to-serious condition.

The causes of their hospitalizations were not immediately released.
