Oct. 06--A 34-year-old Ransomville woman called the Niagara County Sheriff's Office to report that she was the victim of a road rage incident involving a "red fire truck."
The woman said she was driving on Townline Road about 3:30 p.m. Saturday when the truck began tailgating her. The truck driver continued tailgating for miles, she said, following her onto Shawnee Road and yelling at her through the truck's public address system. At one point he yelled, "Learn how to drive, (expletive)." She said he used repeated vulgarities during the course of the incident.
The woman said she was driving the speed limit for most of the time but did slow down a couple times in hopes the truck would pass her.
Deputies located the "fire truck" driver, a 49-year-old Sanborn man, who told them the woman was driving erratically and he was never tailgating. He did admit to using the PA system but did not admit to swearing at her. He told deputies she gave him the finger at one point.
Deputies warned the man to call for assistance and not use the PA system when dealing with what he thought were reckless drivers.
